Bart, one need not morph into anything extreme to oppose torture, or warrantless eavesdropping, or an illegal war, or the descimation of environmental law and science in the public sector. Our president is vulnerable on all of these issue, but no one speaks for the opposition. One need not hug the left wall, as you put it, to defend the constitution or to champion popular causes. You marginalize Russ Feingold's positions with this type of rhetoric. You say you support progressive causes, but you and Hillary tolerate political policies that oppose those positions. Your views on getting elected by lying feed the disinformation that rules public life today. You think you are being pragmatic, but to what end? We need change, dude, not more of the same. Hillary is advocating establishment viewpoints. Everything is not swell. She wants people to think she believes the war is sustainable. It's a joke. Fiscal sanity alone won't permit us to continue to project a military image around the world, perhaps not even in this president's term. It's a disingenuous joke for you to support her stated policies. That path is ruinous. You are part of the problem. Change public opinion; don't settle for manipulating it by furthering bad policies.
