preventing "a fraud on the system."

Mr. Hunt [Roger, not Mike] said he avoided an exception for threats to the mother's health because pro-choice advocates would seize on it to perform abortions on women with emotional, psychological or even financial problems. "It would be a barn door large enough to drive any abortion through it," he said.

Thank

Any Senator who fails to stand with Russ Feingold

The email I just received had the rather alarming

headline warning that bird flu will kill a billion people.

It was spam for viagra and cialis.

Great lines of numbers

all bright and shiny
all through the ether
some huge some tiny
all through the ether
from France to China
unite the people
all bottom liners

Some Brass some Paper
some Gold some Silver
some full of promise
some full of anger
in ranks of thousands
we fall and stumble
all bottom liners
we make the numbers

And in the future
new forms of romance
grenade and landmine
in twilit silence
with hands that tremble
and lives that flounder
all bottom liners
all undergrounders
all undergrounders

eno

Let's get real

RUSS FEINGOLD FOR PRESIDENT

You Decide

A Great Day for Florida Christians and Americans Everywhere!

Katherine Harris insists on continuing to bring her devout faith to you in the form of an anemic senate campaign. She is pulling a Karl Rove. She'll announce her intention to resign from the House to enable her to devote her full time to her senate campaign. This should ultimately give her more time to spend with her family. Until then, we can first look forward to that bust tour, er bus tour with sean hannity.

Investigation Opens Into Possible John Paul II Miracle

Testimony, Documentation to Be Gathered in Effort to Elevate Pope to Saint.

They had to wait until he died? No one noticed the mirculous while he lived? Puhleeze. This is like what the GOP did with Ronald Reagan.

Our Glorious Past

Now I understand the appeal to W of Condi as chief diplomat. She can most easily stand around with an aw shucks, Opie-like look on her face despite her country's murderous past policies, and wretched human rights abuses. Last week, Condi Rice went to Chile to attend the swearing-in of President Michelle Bachelet:

“I think that that past is now behind us.”

Or possibly buried in a mass grave. Or thrown out of a helicopter, screaming, into the ocean.

Three quotes from that glorious past:

“I don’t see why we need to stand by and watch a country go communist due to the irresponsibility of its people.”Kissinger
“International terrorism will take the place of human rights in our concern because it is the ultimate abuse of human rights.”Haig
“rightist authoritarian regimes can be transformed peacefully into democracies, but totalitarian Marxist ones cannot.”Kirkpatrick
all from
WIIIAA.

Katherine Harris, Looking to "our founding fathers", for guidance,

put out this statement to Republican activists gathered in Memphis to hear from 2008 presidential wannabes and others:

"Unfortunately, I am unable to join you this weekend, as I prayerfully prepare with my family, friends and advisors to finalize the strategy for a major announcement next week concerning my candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

I will continue to look to our founding fathers, who pursued their vision with integrity and perseverance, to discern the best course of action for the state of Florida and our nation."

My recollection is that the founding fathers offered little in the way of best courses for the state of Florida. Why doesn't she go run in Montana. The founding fathers never gave a rip about that state either.

Anyway, it's neck and neck to see who hates her more: Dems or non Kool Aid drinking Rethugs, as limited in number though the latter may be.

Who will stand up for liberty and separation of powers, for the right not to live in a monarchy or dictatorship?

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) announced that he will introduce a resolution tomorrow to censure President Bush for authorizing an illegal warrantless domestic surveillance program.
